2017 Intern, US Merchant Marine Academy

Midshipman Kayla Gleason performed a 2 week internship with the Palm Beach Harbor Pilots Association in January 2017. She was able to observe the pilot operations and handling characteristics of various ships coming and going from the Port of Palm Beach. She was also able to observe the day to day dispatch and administrative duties associated with running a Pilot Station. She is a Junior at the US Merchant Marine Academy and plans to graduate in 2018. We wish her luck at sea and in her endeavors of one day becoming a FL harbor pilot.
