2010 Scholarship Recipient Austin Burneo

Midshipman Austin Burneo won the 2010 Palm Beach Harbor Pilots' Minority Scholarship Award worth $1000. He was our third Maritime Academy Intern for the year perfoming a 2 week internship in December with the Harbor Pilots at the Port of Palm Beach. Interns learn the administrative aspect of running a Pilot Association while getting first-hand shiphandling experience with all 5 Pilots aboard various Container, Bulk, Tanker, Ro-Ro, Passenger, and Tug and Barge Vessels. Austin is a Cadet at the Texas A&M Maritime Academy and anticipates graduating in 2013. We wish him well in his goal of becoming a FL State Harbor Pilot.
